Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession)

“The Sacrament of Reconciliation is the sacrament of joy. In it, we rediscover that God never tires of forgiving us; we are the ones who tire of asking for forgiveness.” — Pope Francis

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a beautiful gift of God’s mercy, where we encounter Jesus Christ who heals, forgives, and restores us. In this sacrament, the Lord welcomes us back with love and helps us to grow in holiness and peace.

Through Reconciliation, we are invited to examine our lives honestly, confess our sins with a sincere heart, receive absolution through the ministry of the priest, and be strengthened by God’s grace to live more faithfully as disciples.

What to Expect

  • A welcoming and confidential encounter with a priest
  • A brief time for reflection and sharing of sins
  • Words of counsel and encouragement from the priest
  • A simple penance to help us grow spiritually
  • Absolution and forgiveness in the name of Christ

Preparation

You are encouraged to take time for personal prayer and reflection before celebrating this sacrament. An examination of conscience can help you prepare your heart to experience God’s mercy more fully.

Parish Availability

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available at regularly scheduled times (every Saturday from 4 to 5 PM) and by appointment. All are welcome, whether it has been a short time or many years since your last confession.

In this sacrament, no sin is greater than God’s mercy. The Lord always waits for us with open arms, ready to forgive, heal, and renew our hearts.
